The Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM)
Supported by the Di Jameson Family Foundation, the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) is extending its nationally recognised Pathways Program to include a new Pre-Tertiary Pathway, developed in partnership with Musica Viva’s Strike a Chord competition. The winning school-aged ensemble will be invited to Cairns-Gimuy to take part in ten fully funded days within the AFCM Pathways International Masterclasses.
Participants receive intensive chamber music coaching, mentoring from leading artists, and professional development, while observing rehearsals, attending concerts, and performing in a dedicated showcase.
The program helps young musicians move beyond competition-based learning toward a collaborative, creative understanding of chamber music, strengthening Australia’s future artistic pipeline.
